Carolyn Campbell-McLean

Carolyn Campbell-McLean from Sydney is a consultant trainer, MC and public speaker. Carolyn has an Honours degree in Social Work from Western Sydney University and almost 30 years’ experience working in adult education, the disability sector, government and for-purpose organisations. Carolyn was a research associate on the first evaluation of individualised funding in NSW in 2008.


Since then, Carolyn has been supporting people with disability in her roles as a Living Life My Way Champion, Senior Facilitator at My Choice Matters’ leadership program and Training Facilitator with the Council for Intellectual Disability and the Physical Disability Council NSW.


Successfully recruiting her team of supports to live independently for the past 30 years, and self-managing her NDIS package, Carolyn trains and supports others to self-advocate and take control of their lives. Over the past year Carolyn has worked to create systemic change in the energy sector in her role as Deputy Chair of the Energy Charter Lived Experience Panel.


Currently Senior Community Support Specialist at Muscular Dystrophy NSW (MDNSW), coordinating MDNSW flagship program Peer Connect, Carolyn is passionate about the power of lived experience and the voices of people with disability in influencing policy and practice.


Carolyn is well known for her networking and ability to relate to any audience, and is a proud Aunty, papercrafts enthusiast, keen traveller and Wests Tigers tragic!
